About Purple Sector Secondhand Timepieces

Purple Sector provides upfront pricing with as little markup possible. As long as I can keep site up and afford the next watch, that’s enough for me. If you arrived at my website because you saw one of my listings on another site or forum, you likely noticed a different price. That’s because every price reflects what it costs to sell through place where you saw it. I’ll honor any listing of mine you can find. Just send an email directly and let Purple Sector Timepieces be your favorite watch buying destination!

Over 20 years experience researching and hunting down rare and hard to find watches gives me the edge to make sure you’re getting the best deal on an authentic luxury timepiece. Just like buying a vintage Porsche or Jaguar, knowing what you’re buying makes all the difference. I love the “hunt” of finding that great watch at a great price, knowing that it’s going to bring the next owner years and years of enjoyment. Specializing in vintage and modern chronographs, but with a soft spot for everything with a great design. Whether you’re an avid collector adding another piece to your collection or just starting your horological journey, I’ll make sure your journey is one for the record books.

About the descriptions

Each listing provides a condition in the description and our condition ratings are as follows:

  • New: Watch has never been worn. Was purchased and warranty (if present) may or may not have begun. Protective plastic may have been removed for listing pictures.
  • LNIB (Like New In Box): A watch that is in pristine condition. Accompanied by the factory box(es), tags and documentation as if being purchased new from an authorized dealer. No alterations from factory-delivered condition. Working perfectly, keeping excellent time, needs nothing.
  • Near Mint: A watch showing very light signs of wear. Faint surface scratches may be visible on the case, bezel, bracelet or buckle, usually typical of office use (desk diving) and only seen upon close inspection. Completely original in every way. Strap may show light use – may be bent or lightly creased, but not stained. Bracelet may be resized. The watch is working perfectly, keeping very good time and needs nothing.
  • Excellent: Evidence of use is visible to the naked eye. May have light scratches or very small marks. No major dents, dings or scratches, and the bracelet may have minor wear. Working well and should need no repair or service.
  • Very good: A watch that shows regular daily wear but no “abuse”. Minor nicks or dings may be present. Running and keeping good time, though may need minor regulation. A good presentation overall that another owner would be proud to wear every day.

Watches below Very Good may not have a grade and may be listed as having issues that would prevent them from being ready to be worn every day. Only watches that appear to be losing a noticeable amount of time when worn are measured on a timegrapher. Please ask prior to purchase for a measurement if desired.
